Thank you to all those that attended at this warm welcoming establishment, 'The Beekeeper's Wife', for our last group meeting for 2018. It must be said, this venue delivered the most sensational lunch for the group - compliments to Adrian and his great team!
Jorja Sharp and Tracey Crouchman were guest speakers and gave a wonderful insight as a Burn Survivor and as a Parent of a Burn Survivor, On behalf of all those that attended, thank you and our appreciation to you both for your frank, honest and inspiring conversations. A fabulous day enjoyed by all those that attended Burn Survivor Sunday. The Howick Golf Club was a lovely venue and provided a lovely lunch.
Burn Support Group would like to thank Carol-Ann Hanna for sharing stories of the 'Dancing with the Stars' show. It was wonderful to have Carol join us and there has been suggestion of a future collaboration (watch this space!) After lunch the group took to expressing their creativity, with the assistance of "Sip and Paint", Yolanda and Tracee. The end result was brilliant and I think everyone was surprised with how stunning it looked. This masterpiece was created by the ladies on the day and will be auctioned off at a Fundraising Event on 27 October 2018. Congratulations to Kathy Mummery, winner of the raffle. Burn Survivor Sundays are set up for ladies to meet and greet, share stories and establish relationships which can support their needs. It's such a pleasure to see familiar faces at these events and very exciting to meet the newcomers. |
The next Survivor Sunday is on 17 November 2018.

Sunday 20 May saw a busy, fun, active day of pampering for 18 ladies as they attended Burn Support Groups Survivor Sunday.
It was so good to see familiar and regular faces along with the new. The support at such an event can be overwhelming, with the meeting and greeting of likeminded people who understand better than anyone the journey's they share. This day gave the opportunity to the Burn survivor to give back to that person who has been a tower of strength, the carer or the support person listening and caring playing a major role in their lives. With all the amazing positive feedback, we are planning for a second event where we hope to see you all again. A very big thank you to the Angels from Feeling Fab Charity (Feeling Fab Charitable Trust was set up by Elizabeth York, with the wonderful support of Ambassador Suzy Heazlewood), as without your selflessness and generosity these events would not be possible for any fortunate groups. Thanks to the ladies who gave their time to volunteer for the day - from the beautiful lunch ladies team to all those others that pampered, supervised and assisted in organising this day the Burn Support Group are very grateful. Please keep an eye out for the next date! |
