January 24th 2013 we were off on the bus and ready for our adventure at Lakewood Lodge in Huntly.
It was so good seeing everyone again and having some new faces to welcome into our little family. We arrived early morning and got straight into activities after morning tea. Activities included Horse Games, Kayaking, 11m Climbing Wall, Archery, 130m Twin Flying Foxes, Low Ropes Challenge, Frisbee Golf plus and much more. The children were amazing with all the activities, giving everything a go and seeing their little faces light up when they had achieved something is what this camp is all about. On Saturday we had our board members arrive for the day, it was so nice for everyone to get to meet each other and see what camp is all about. The parents who were on camp with us got to experience an adult support group and the children had a separate one run by our Patrons, Alan and Delwyn Breslau. Delwyn is the founder of the Burn Support Charitable Trust Inc and married to Alan who is the founder of the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors. Monday came around very fast and it was time to pack up and go home. I can’t wait to see all our little children a year older and most probably taller than me. Until next year ….
