This year saw Nyeyah receive her wish through the Grant A Wish initiative. Nyeyah wished for the opportunity to learn piano and the Charity provided this goal with the support from Nyeyah's school and the Music Education organisation with a term of piano lessons held at school weekly. This term Nyehah started one-on-one tuition with teacher Shania. The Burn Support Group, along with fellow campers wish Nyeyah all the best and congratulate her as she learns and explores her talents and ability with music. www.musiceducation.co.nz |
Camp Awhi 2023 saw Jack Dragicevich receiver of the Annual 'Grant A Wish'. Jack had an eventful Camp as he also graduated with a wonderful ceremony provided by his peers at camp. Jack requested support towards gaining his drivers licence as he embarks on his new world in the workforce. The Burn Support Group assisted his wish with presenting a Certificate to the value of $273.00, this has covered the cost of his learners and given access to 3 driver instruction lessons. We can happily report part one is successful with Jack now passing his test :) Well done and congratulations, Jack! 2024 will see another worthy and well deserving camper achieve a Wish! |
This year's lucky camper winning the Grant A Wish scheme is Tayla O'Connor. Tayla has started her apprenticeship for hairdressing, something she is passionate about, and we wish her luck as she embarks on a new chapter of her young life. Grant A Wish is offered to all those that attend camp, an opportunity to express something needed or wanted. On the last day of Camp a winner is pulled from the hat and the Burn Support Group provides this wish! Tayla was given her first hairdressing kit, supplied with the necessary tools to assist her in her new career, with a number of items necessary for the trade! Well done and congratulations Tayla, watch out world as this talented professional makes her debut. Burn Support Group would like to thank the support of Combined Salon Services. |

Grant-A-Wish 20192019 saw the introduction of the Grant-A-Wish initiative.
Campers had four days to talk, discuss, share dreams, inventions and treats before putting their wish on paper. On the last day of Camp one of the lucky campers had their wish pulled out the bucket and this was Suzy Cooper, from Taranaki and a first timer for camp. Suzy, along with her sister, were in Auckland during March and they fulfilled her dream of wanting to go horse riding . Thank you to Arobridge Equine, Clevedon for accommodating this wish. |
