NOVEMBER 2008
Burn Support Group Charitable Trust was delighted to be chosen as recipient charity for the Moccona Masquerade Ball held at Auckland Museum on October 2nd 2008. The event, jointly sponsored by Mindfood magazine, saw Moccona team up with Burn Support Group to raise awareness of burns, particularly those caused by hot drinks.
Speaker Lena Tukuafu shared her moving but inspirational story of her recovery from receiving severe burn injuries as a child and her involvement with Burn Support Group Charitable Trust. Treasurer Owen Williams enlightened the audience as to the work of the Trust and expressed thanks to the organisers for their support.
Designer masks created by some of NZ's top fashion designers including Trelise Cooper and World, were among auction items on the night. A stunning evening of fine food, wine and dancing continued into the night with the spectacular back-drop of Auckland's city skyline. The total funds raised will be posted on here shortly...
