Over many years Burn Support Group has been able to fund hospital equipment for burns patients as well as various burn prevention education projects including:
DERMATOME AND TROLLEY 2015
Each year Burn Support Group Charitable Trust donates equipment to the National Burn Centre at Middlemore Hospital. This year a Dermatome and trolley were on their wishlist. Along with Southern Stars Charitable Trust we fundraised to purchase this equipment. Richard Wong She said the Dermatome is a huge step up from the equipment they previously used (harvesting knife - as seen below next to the Dermatome) The harvesting knife relies on the operator, whereas the Dermatome is machine operated which gives a more accurate thickness for skin grafts and the scarring is tidier and more consistent.
