Fundraising Information

Through telemarketing, run by Southern Stars Charitable Trust, many thousands of dollars have been raised to enable the Trust to finance various projects, such as:

$20,000 Polar Air System (Huggie Blanket) - Intensive Care Unit, Middlemore Hospital
$27,000 Wiring for in-house T.V./Video - Kidz first
$41,000 Bath and hoist - Burns Unit, Kidz first
$180,000 2001 Burn Prevention/Awareness Video 'Burnwise' - produced by Greenstone Pictures to be distributed free of charge to all Auckland primary schools. 2006 Updated DVD version of 'Burnwise' produced and distributed to all primary/intermediate school in New Zealand.
$80,000 Equipment for new National Burn Centre at Middlemore Hospital.
$8,000 Donated by the Fire Protection Association for Mr Quick Cool mouse pads to be distributed to all primary and intermediate schools as a reminder/incentive to teachers to keep up the use of the Burnwise DVD.
$45,000 New hi-tech bed for National Burn Centre at Middlemore Hospital.
$5,000 Printing of special envelopes and postage to distribute Mr Quick Cool mouse pads. Money donated by Fire Protection Association. We have also helped to enable burn specialist nurses to attend conferences overseas.
