The annual Burn Support Show at Logan Campbell centre was quite an affair this year!

Arranged by Southern Stars Charitable Trust as a fund raiser for the Burn Support Group Charitable Trust the children's pantomime told the story of how much trouble Santa Clause got into recently.

Few people realised the logistical problems of delivering presents to children let alone the difficulties when adverse weather conditions and wicked spells set out to disrupt Santa's usual pattern. It was only with the very enthusiastic singing of some Christmas carols by the audience (young and olde) that the "anti Santa" spells were broken. These carols were sung at the appropriate time and with sufficient gusto to completely negate the worst efforts of those set against Santa and his helpers!

These events do not just "happen" and the photos show variously: the feeding of some of those involved at rehearsal time the previous evening. Of course some young patrons liked having their faces painted by Colin and his team from "Cut Above" who gave their services free. Volunteers from "Avis" rentals provided ushering and guidance assistance. Some involved in the pantomime itself were volunteers and one photo shows a wounded warrior who was injured during rehearsals, spraining an ankle badly.

After the show our young guests chatted to the cast and had programmes auto graphed. I think most children (and adults) realised that Mr GIANT, beneath his gruff exterior, was at heart a really nice chap. He certainly seemed to have his fans!

Behind the Scenes

The President of the Burn Support Group Charitable Trust, Vera Steenson was presented with a BIG cheque for $80,000.

This money will be used to pay for the marketing-packaging distribution of our new DVD Burn Education Kit, along with Annual Children's camp and an upgrade of office equipment.

Our thanks to all those concerned on the day and also all the staff of Southern Stars Charitable Trust who made it possible by all those phone calls!

If you were one who responded to such a call, it couldn't have happened without you.
